PRODUCT INFORMATION
General Description
Salrose, a term derived from the French "salt rose," represents the exquisite crystalline pink mineral found in the Congo. Often mistakenly labelled as Pink Calcite or Cobalt Calcite, Salrose encompasses specimens that are Cobalt-bearing Dolomite or Calcite. Originating from various regions in Southern and Central Congo, this mineral variety presents challenges in distinguishing between Dolomite and Calcite variants, especially in microcrystalline forms. As a result, Salrose serves as a convenient umbrella term encompassing both minerals without the need for precise mineral identification. While some specimens exhibit associations with Malachite or other copper-based minerals, not all display these characteristics. Salrose specimens offer a diverse spectrum, ranging from delicate milky pink crystals to the exceptionally rare highly optic deep pink gemmy material. The presence of Cobalt gives rise to its distinct pink hues, providing an alluring visual appeal. Price is grade dependant. Items are as shown.Product Data
